Success stories
Installation of RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts on thin-walled components for wind power plants. For over 55 years, WfbM (sheltered workshops for people with disabilities) in Aurich-Wittmund, Germany, has produced multiple commissions for medium-sized enterprises, wind power plant manufacturers and crane controls.
Initial situation
The metal sheets lasered and processed at WfbM are used in the switching devices of a well-known wind power plant manufacturer. The company previously used round blind rivet nuts to create a load-bearing thread. However, these would come loose after installation and did not ensure tight joints.
Solution
RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts can be installed without counter pressure, allowing them to be placed on hollow sections, housings, profiles or components that can only be accessed from one side, for example. Unlike weld nuts, the workpiece is not impaired by heat. After insertion, no additional surface treatment is required, even if the components have already been coated or painted.
They can be used with metal materials, plastics and even ceramic components.
Various head shapes, shaft ends and shapes are available, so the blind rivet nuts can be used in a wide range of applications.
With the corresponding pneumatic-hydraulic setting tools RIVKLE® P1007 and RIVKLE® P2007, the RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts are processed under controlled force. The ergonomic setting tools ensure easy handling.
The RIVKLE® EP X009 also monitors the setting path to control the process and ensure correct installation.
Result
Modern installation facilities and innovative technology ensure complex components can be fastened according to custom quality standards. Using our pneumatic-hydraulic RIVKLE® setting tools, 10,000 RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts are installed at WfbM per month.
The installed RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts are made of zinc-plated steel and have a small countersunk head and hexagonal shaft.
