RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts

Resilient threads on thin-walled components with RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts.

RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts and blind rivet studs

Highly resilient

Load-bearing threads on thin-walled components

Do your components have wall thicknesses that are too thin and prevent the use of pre-cut threads? Or would you like to replace a damaged thread, for example due to a weld nut breaking off? RIVKLE® creates load-bearing nut threads to reliably connect your thin-walled components, even if they are only accessible from one side. The different variants of RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts provide you with the right solution for your application. Next to the elements we also offer you everything you need for processing blind rivet nuts, from manual blind rivet nut tongs to fully automatic processing systems.

Plus factors

Advantages of RIVKLE®

  • Quick and easy installation

Blind rivet nuts can be installed in just a few seconds and are immediately fully loadable.

  • Extra strong protection against rust

The galvanising of our RIVKLE® Blind rivets nuts have a corrosion resistance min. 400 hours against red rust in the salt spray test (according to ISO 9227)

  • Load-bearing thread

RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts fulfil the requirements for screw connections. They have a strength similar to strength class 8 (or even 10 or 12 in the case of HRT variants).

Method and principle

The installation of blind rivet nuts - simple and fast

RIVKLE® blind rivet nuts offer versatile solutions for fastening load-bearing nut threads to thin-walled workpieces or hollow profiles. They are very easy to install in single- or multi-layer components without a counterhold (‘blind’). A blind rivet nut has a specific area in the shank that contracts when the setting force is applied and forms a bead. This provides a clamp between the head and the bead and holds the blind rivet nut firmly in the component. The blind rivet nuts are essentially set in four steps. The blind rivet nut is threaded onto the mandrel until it makes contact with the nose piece. The blind rivet nut is then inserted into the hole in the component until the underside of the head lies flat against the component. The blind rivet nut is then compressed according to the specified parameters, forming a clamping bead. Please refer to the RIVKLE® product catalogue (p. 8) for the appropriate setting force for your dimensions. In the fourth step, the spindle is unscrewed and the blind rivet nut is ready for use.

    • Stainless steel: resistant to corrosion and temperature

    Head shapes

    • Flat head
    • Countersunk head
    • Extra thin head

    End types

    • Open
    • Closed

    End shapes

    • Round and plain
    • Round and knurled
    • Hexagonal shank
    • Partial hexagonal shank
  • RIVKLE® Stainless steel

    Advantages

    • Optimised corrosion resistance
    • Optimised temperature resistance
  • RIVKLE® SFC

You can use RIVKLE® SFC, Smart For Composite, to insert load-bearing threads in plastics and composite materials without damaging them.

    Working principle

    • The basic principle is that the load is specifically distributed in the direction of the thread axle with no radial stress.

    Versions

    • RIVKLE® SFC is available in various versions in steel and stainless steel (A4).
  • RIVKLE® Seal Ring

To protect your assemblies from external influences, RIVKLE® Seal Ring technology ensures a tight seal against all fluids and gases.

    Advantages

    • The seal is securely bonded to the RIVKLE® blind rivet nut. It remains in place under all circumstances, including during automatic setting with a blow feed unit
    • Tightness in compliance with standard ISO 20653, specification IPX7
    • UV resistance and temperature resistance up to 220°C
    • Resistance to all fluids (oils, hydrocarbons, etc.)
  • RIVKLE® HRT

Our high-strength RIVKLE® HRT (high resistance thread) blind rivet nuts provide an extremely strong load-bearing thread which considerably improves the mechanical properties of the blind rivet nut.

    Versions

    • Steel and aluminium

    Advantages compared to RIVKLE® Standard

    • Higher tightening torques permit higher preload forces in the joint
    • Smaller sizes possible
    • Reduced weight
    • Corrosion-resistant and recyclable, particularly in aluminium components (RIVKLE® HRT Aluminium)
  • RIVKLE® Seal Ring Aluminium HRT

The RIVKLE® Seal Ring Aluminium HRT technology is the latest generation solution for battery tray joining, meeting the most demanding requirements.

    Advantages

    • Significant weight savings through its aluminium design (2.5 times lighter than a steel fastener, with equivalent design)
    • Ideal for electrical environments as there is no risk of metal oxidation due to its aluminium construction.
    • Aluminium/aluminium joints can be easily recycled, eliminating the need to separate materials
  • RIVKLE® PN with slotted shank

    Versions

    • Steel (aluminium and stainless steel on request)

    Advantages compared to RIVKLE® Standard

    • High pull-out forces
    • RIVKLE® PN has the largest clamping range of all blind rivet nuts for variable material thicknesses
    • Large clamping range to reinforce workpiece
    • Low radial stresses during setting prevent excessive loading of the component
    • Low radial stresses in the component
  • RIVKLE® Blind rivet studs

RIVKLE® blind rivet studs allow you to prefix the screw-on component to the carrier component. This is particularly helpful for heavy or large parts or with concealed assembly (“hang on” assembly). Our blind rivet studs are available in different versions
