The Böllhoff Education Campus is being built

We are giving training and lifelong learning a new home: the Böllhoff Education Campus will be built on around 1,600 m² in 2024. The open world of further education will give apprentices, students, employees and other inquisitive minds a creative space to learn from each other, exchange ideas - and develop new ones.

In times of a shortage of skilled workers, we want to invest even more in the training and further education of our employees. That is why we are investing around 5 million euros in the Böllhoff Education Campus at our headquarters in Bielefeld. The new building combines the technical training workshops with modern exchange and training rooms as well as a smart factory laboratory for networking and robotics. A joining technology forum is also planned: Here, Böllhoff products can be experienced by pupils, students and guests, for example as part of hands-on events and product training courses.

"Investing in further training ensures the success of our company in the global competition for skilled workers. With international training programmes and the Education Campus, we ensure that our employees continuously improve their skills."

A creative space for new approaches

New approaches - this applies to technologies and training concepts as well as to the exchange with cooperation companies, start-ups and educational institutions. Future technologies such as robotics and AI will be just as much a focus at the Education Campus as the practical use of augmented reality, for example for innovative training concepts.

Creating something sustainable in a historic location

The future Education Campus project is growing at a location of special significance for Böllhoff. Until 2019, our first in-house production facility for thread inserts, founded at the end of the 1950s, was located on the street "Im Brocke". Following the relocation of this production area to larger halls on "Duisburger Straße", the Böllhoff Education Campus is now being built on the same site - as an investment in the training of tomorrow.

The sustainability aspect was also a major concern for us from the outset when constructing the new building complex. The Education Campus is heated with a heat pump and a photovoltaic system on the roof generates part of the electricity required for this directly on site. Parts of the roof are also greened - with correspondingly positive effects for nature and people. By giving back part of the sealed surface to nature, we are creating habitats for insects and improving the microclimate and air quality.

"With the construction of the new Campus, we are not only creating sufficient capacity for the increasing demand for training, but also gaining space for new approaches. Space to expand existing collaborations with educational institutions and partner companies, for example, or to try out new event formats."

Promoting knowledge exchange and networking

An open creative area with seminar rooms and an event hall for over 100 people offers plenty of space for workshops and an open exchange of ideas - both internally and externally. The creative space will not only be available for corporate events and our own training courses, but also for partner companies and universities. In this way, we want to promote networking within the region and the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge. Completion of the Böllhoff Education Campus is planned for the end of 2024.
