Just leave your own car at home? Whether carpooling or using a job bike - at Böllhoff we encourage our employees to look for and use alternative ways to get to work.
Driving together saves resources - and is fun
Our French site in La Ravoire is a pioneer when it comes to carpooling: here, employees can sign up for five different routes - and join the respective carpool flexibly. In 2023, for example, our team from Grenoble organized a total of 168 return trips with four people per car. This saved around 800 litres of fuel for a distance of just over 13,000 km.
But local carpooling not only means saving resources, it also means less fatigue and stress - and above all more fun and interaction.
Job bike - the healthy and sustainable ride to work
Since July 1, 2023, we have been giving employees at all German locations a boost on their way to work on their own bike - via job bike leasing. Whether you prefer to use only muscle power or electric assistance, whether it's just for commuting to work or also for private use: Everything is possible with a job bike. After just one year, more than 270 employees have already applied for more than 330 job bikes.
In cooperation with JobRad, a bicycle leasing provider, our employees can obtain up to two tax-subsidized bicycles. In this respect, the job bike is not only beneficial for the environment and health, but also for the wallet. This is because our employees can save money compared to the regular retail price thanks to the advantageous taxation. The monthly installments are automatically deducted from the gross salary - and Böllhoff subsidizes this with 26 euros per month.
