The aim was to identify optimisation potential for the fastening technology in the compressors and to develop suitable solutions.

Initial situation
High assembly effort
Boge was looking for an alternative way to close the compressors and for ways to optimise the connections of the individual components. In particular, the use of split pin conntections and rivet nuts led to high assembly costs and was very time-consuming when manufacturing the compressors.
The Böllhoff ECOTECH application engineers analysed this application as part of a belt inspection. As a result, technical solutions were proposed and presented to Boge. In the end, the application engineers were able to present the DST quick connector as the optimum and more efficient solution for this application.

DST quick fastener - tool-free and in seconds
The DST quick fastener offers an innovative and high-strength quick fastening solution.
It works like a latch lock in house and room doors - when the DST fastener is pressed through a suitable installation opening, the bevelled edge of the clamping jaws pushes the snap element back into the guide channel like a latch. The spring is tensioned in the process. As soon as the height of the clamping jaws has been overcome during insertion, the tensioned spring pushes the snap elements out of the guide channel again - the result is a high-strength connection.
