Clinch joint quality control: In addition to a visual inspection of the clinch joint, it is common practice for production control to check the St value (residual bottom thickness) at regular interval during the production process. As a rule of thumb the St-value of a round clinch joint is typically 1/3 of the total material thickness, and about 1/2 for a rectangular joint.
In general, the clinching process is used for material thicknesses between 0.2 and 6 mm. Special tool sets are available in our product portfolio for material thicknesses up to 10 mm.
The specific design of the tool sets takes place through tests on the original material.
1-2 strokes per second.
